Texturing

In today’s session we began to texture our spaceships, we used Photoshop to add the colour to our UV shells. texture

I decided that the main colour of my ship would be grey therefore the other colours i would add on to the ship, would stand out more than if i had a bright base to my ship.

Sword and Shield Improvements

in today’s session i have improved my sword and started to model my shield. i began to change the hilt of the sword so that it would look similar to the design i put on my mood board. I tried to keep the sword as low poly as possible while maintaining the unique design of the sword. I also began to design the my shield, however i found designing the silhouette of the shield quite difficult.

3D models: Sword

Using maya I have further developed my sword design, in the next session i will begin to model my final shield design. I based my sword off of my drawing designs that i attempted to 3D model using maya. This is what my sword turned out like once i finished the 3D modelling process…

I tried to make it as low poly as possible so that when i come to UV unwrapping it, it will be a much easier job for me to do. It will also make texturing the sword a lot easier as well.

UV Unwrapping

In my first experience with UV unwrapping, i found it extremely difficult. After an hour or so of trying to figure out how to make my shells from my ship, i eventually got the hang of making shells that corresponded to my spaceship. Once i got used to making the shells i actually enjoyed deconstructing my  spaceship, i am quite proud of the work that i eventually got done.

Light: The light in this image of Spider-man is diffused from the background to make the character the main focus of the picture, this image has two points of perspectives. This makes it so that there is two focus points of the image, the background and the character. The colour in this image is very bright due to the light hitting the parts of the character where it is the most bright, this is to make the character stand out because the character is the main focus of the image.

Shadows: most of the shadows in this image are caused from the buildings around Spider-man
